I first got to know Alicia when she started coming to yoga classes at The Hot Yoga Factory. Whether I was teaching her or practicing nearby, it was clear that she was a determined and strong person with a fantastic attitude. She felt the physical and emotional benefits of yoga, but it was when Alicia started attending Hot Pilates classes that her enthusiasm for working hard at the studio really soared. She made it a priority to get to as many classes as possible, and has the muscles and stamina to show for her hard work. What brought you to the HYF Studio?
I was in a fitness rut. Things that once worked for me were no longer. I was looking for a workout I was excited about and could see results.
What keeps you coming to class?
Pilates offers an ongoing challenge not only when learning new moves but in consistently working you improve your form on the classics.
How often do you practice Hot Pilates?
2-4 times a week.
What has surprised you about your practice?
How much I crave it! I genuinely look forward to my time in the hot room.
What is one tip you would give to a new student at The Hot Yoga Factory?
Keep showing up! The HYF community is so fun! I always feel so supportive being surrounded by positive instructors and other like-minded students.
What physical changes have you noticed from taking Hot Pilates classes?
Decreased lower back pain, improved posture, and lean muscle strength.
Any other changes in how you approach/feel about life that are related to taking Hot Pilates classes on a regular basis?
Hot Pilates not only helps me de-stress, but has improved my mental focus and daily energy level.
Do you have favorite “moves” during class?
I have an intense love/hate relationship with burpees! So difficult, but super effective!
